ATTEMPTING TO IDENTIFY / LOCATE

The Channahon, IL Police Department along with the Criminal Investigation Section of the Will County, IL Sheriff's Department are attempting to identify the above depicted individual in reference to a homicide which occurred at the I & M Canal Towpath on Sunday, September 10, 2000, at approximately 3:30pm. (GPS location: N 41° 28.030', W 88° 11.970').

- This individual was seen running eastbound from the scene, and may possibly have information or involvement in the homicide. This subject is described as 5'8" tall, 160 pounds, mid twenties, wearing a multicolored small-checked short sleeve shirt with a gray shirt underneath, khaki shorts, and dark colored gym shoes.

- Suspect may be armed with a handgun.

- Chance the individual may be driving a vehicle similar to a late 1980's Ford Thunderbird, red in color, with wire hubcaps/wheels, possibly two door.

Catching the Murderer - What to look for

Common traits that may be exhibited by the murderer since the date of the crime, September 10, 2000:

1. Changed appearance: grew a beard, changed length of hair, wears sunglasses or hats to disguise himself.

2. Exhibits paranoid, nervous, agitated or apprehensive behavior.

3. Quit/changed jobs unexpectedly since September 2000.

4. Moved away from the area since the murder abruptly.

5. Has made suicidal or self-depricating comments.

6. Modified, painted or changed personal automobile.

7. Disassociated himself with friends or family members.

8. Boasts or brags about getting away with something.

9. Has become very short-tempered.

10. May be a loner.

 

A $5,000 reward is being offered by the family for the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the murder of
